About the Role:

Job Summary

Surgical Short Stay is an 11-bed unit with all private rooms, 1 room equipped to be utilized as a negative pressure room. As a 23-hour surgical observation unit, care will be provided to a variety of surgical patients including but not limited to:

  • Elective Total Joint replacements surgeries (Shoulder, knee, hip)
  • General Surgeries (Thyroid, parathyroid, laparoscopic, robotic)
  • GYN surgeries
  • Plastic surgeries
  • Neurosurgical surgeries (Neck, back)
  • Urology surgeries
  • Vascular surgeries

Patients receive physical, emotional, spiritual and psychosocial support for themselves and their families.

The Surgical Short Stay Unit collaborates with the Inpatient Surgical Departments to provide comprehensive postoperative care for patients that require extended recovery after surgery but do not meet the need for inpatient care.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Licensure or other certifications: Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia.

  • Educational Requirements: Associate's Degree, ADN or Diploma required

  • Minimum Experience: At least 1 year of RN experience - Demonstrated competence in RN I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire
