A rapidly expanding ready-to-eat food organization operating multiple production facilities is seeking a hands-on Environmental, Health & Safety leader. This newly established position will be responsible for creating and leading a cohesive EHS strategy across the network, with direct visibility and partnership at the executive level.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a standardized EHS framework across several ready-to-eat manufacturing sites
• Drive incident and near-miss investigations, determine root causes, and ensure corrective actions are effectively executed
• Oversee the workers’ compensation program, including claim management and return-to-work initiatives
• Conduct site audits, compliance reviews, and employee safety training programs
• Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations, including but not limited to lockout/tagout, machine safeguarding, confined space, and emergency egress
• Establish and strengthen near-miss reporting processes, ensuring accountability and resolution of identified risks
• Lead PPE strategy, ensuring consistency in selection, availability, and proper use across facilities
• Partner on environmental compliance efforts as part of the broader EHS function
• Track, analyze, and communicate safety and environmental performance metrics to senior leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline
• 3+ years of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment; food or consumer packaged goods experience required
• Experience supporting or overseeing multiple sites is highly desirable
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards in a production setting
• Demonstrated success in developing, improving, or scaling safety programs
• Experience managing workers’ compensation programs with a focus on outcomes
• Ability to travel up to 50% across facilities
• Professional certifications (OSHA, CSP, CIH) are a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP systems is beneficial
