Transportation Supervisor

This is a fully onsite role at our Fairburn Location. 

We are looking for an experienced Transportation Supervisor based in Fairburn, GA to oversee, direct, and coordinate the logistics operations at the facility. You will be responsible for managing staff workloads, monitoring inventory, engage with carriers while enforcing safety protocols, and utilizing technology to meet oeprational goals. It's an exciting time to join the DP World team!

We are currently hiring for the following schedule:

• Weekend 2nd Shift Friday through Sunday from 5:00pm to 5:00am.

About the Role

How you will contribute

• Coordinate and control the order cycle and associated information systems.
• Monitor the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods.
• Assign approved service provider for transportation based on the approved carrier matrix, mode, service level, and cost efficiency to meet the customer’s expectations.
• Ensure that all transport fleet vehicles are properly maintained.
• Proactively works with operations to identify shipments at risk of not meeting secure dates based on mode, service level, miles, equipment type.
• Other duties as assigned.

Your Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field.
• Experience performing professional level operational and plant management duties; preferably in automotive or logistics industry.
• Knowledge of principles and procedures used in material planning and logistics operations and practices.
• Knowledge of various means of transport / transit times.
