We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Dental Office Receptionist with experience in insurance billing to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and processing payments. In addition, they will ensure the smooth operation of the front desk, maintain accurate patient records, and contribute to a positive patient experience.
Willing to train the right person and pay will be commensurate with experience, and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors, creating a welcoming and professional environment.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient recalls, and maintain the office calendar.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility for in-network or out-of-network providers.
- Process insurance claims and manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely reimbursement.
- Collect copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances from patients at the time of service.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including contact information, insurance details, and treatment history.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and provide general information about the practice.
- Ensure the reception area and front desk are clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure efficient patient flow and office operations.
- Stay current with insurance regulations, policies, and best dental billing and administration practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in dental office administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a dental office receptionist or related position.
- Strong knowledge of dental insurance billing and claims processing.
- Familiarity with in-network and out-of-network insurance coverage verification.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in using dental practice management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize duties, and adapt to changing priorities.
