Job Description Job Description Starting pay: $21-$23 an hour Shift: 1st shift - 7AM until production ends 2nd shift: 430pm until production ends Location: 3675 & 3600 Zip Industrial Blvd, Atlanta- near the airport Job Description The Production Team Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of production areas. This role ensures efficient workflow, compliance with safety and food quality standards, and effective supervision of production staff. The Team Lead plays a key role in fostering a safe, organized, and high-performing production environment. This position requires availability to work Sundays as part of the regular schedule. Duties and responsibilities Supervise and monitor daily activities of production team members. Oversee the performance and workflow of the assigned production line or area. Coordinate closely with the Production Supervisor to address issues and optimize operations. Assess daily staffing needs and assign personnel to appropriate work areas as needed. Prioritize and organize orders according to operational demands and staffing levels. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Warehouse, QA) to ensure product availability and line readiness. Ensure all orders are completed accurately and on time. Confirm correct setup of production lines including products, labels, and packaging materials. Source required materials, tools, and ingredients for the day's production. Champion a culture of safety; proactively identify and report safety concerns. Assign and communicate daily work tasks to production employees. Conduct visual inspections to ensure products meet quality and food safety standards. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly. Complete all required documentation accurately and on schedule. Follow and adjust daily production schedules as needed. Enforce GMP, HACCP, and all company food safety and quality procedures. Meet or exceed daily production targets and KPIs. Communicate raw material quality issues to the Production Supervisor and QA department. Train new hires and ensure they are proficient in required tasks; support cross-training initiatives across other production areas to build team flexibility and enhance productivity. Record production data and input information into spreadsheets. Validate all scanned carton barcodes for accuracy. Other tasks as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs) Knowledge of HACCP and food safety requirements. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Basic comprehension of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), preferred Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Business Central knowledge a plus Qualifications: ~2+ years of experience in food manufacturing and leadership. ~ Strong leadership, communication, and training skills. ~ Ability to work independently and under pressure. ~ Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic tech (computer/iPad). ~ Must read, write, and speak English (Spanish preferred). ~ Must be available to work Sundays and other flexible hours as needed (including holidays and overtime). ~ Must be a permanent employee (for internal applicants). ~ Authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify required). Work Environment: Cold, wet, and fast-paced and wet manufacturing environment. Temperature ranges between 34°ree;F and 38°ree;F. Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and chemicals. Standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. for extended periods. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, hear, speak, walk, read, sit, twist, and bend The employee must frequently stand and walk.
