Senior ETL QA Analyst

The Senior QA Analyst (Clearing Data Analytics) will work with Business Analysts, SQL Developers, ETL and Data Warehouse Engineers to review business/technical requirements and produce test strategies, test scenarios, test cases and queries to validate code that generates data in reports and dashboards. 

In this role you will develop a deep understanding of our Clearing Houses business processes. You will focus on understanding the data models and fields, complex data transformation logic, various integration points, and reporting dashboards. The right candidate has a unique mix of technical skills and business-process savvy and will proactively develop and maintain automation queries in SQL and or python.

 

Responsibilities

• Document, maintain and execute detailed test cases to validate system functionality, identify and document software defects, and track test case execution status.
• Create test plans for software releases to detail the overall strategy for testing complex systems, including defining resources and test scope for each test cycle, and identifying dependencies and risks.
• Deploy software release builds, maintain test environments, and perform troubleshooting software / hardware configuration problems.
• Work with technology team in building cutting edge Clearing Data Analytics and Reporting Systems.
• Test systems built in ETL, DWH and reporting based solutions
• Gain experience with Iterative and Agile software development methodologies.
• Perform all aspects of verification, including functional, integration, automated regression and system testing.

Knowledge and Experience

• 7+ years of experience in enterprise application testing (test case development and execution)
• Strong SQL and or python scripting experience
• Ability to set priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Prefer 3+ years of experience working in UNIX/Linux and SQL/Oracle environments.
• Experience in working with ETL systems and Reporting solutions such as Tableau and or business objects.
• B.S. or higher in Computer Science or related discipline; or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of experience with commodity markets, financial trading environment, or equity brokerage business and exposure to futures markets is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of testing process, testing methodology analysis and defect reporting tools.
• Ability to work independently and productively under pressure.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and decision-making ability.
