Position Summary:
The Senior Developer designs, develops, and delivers mission-critical cloud-native services for a large-scale federal platform hosted on AWS. This role is responsible for implementing complex application features, maintaining high engineering standards, mentoring developers, and contributing to architectural and technical decisions. Working closely with architects, technical leads, business analysts, and Agile delivery teams, the Senior Developer leverages AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software delivery while ensuring quality, security, scalability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement complex cloud-native application features and platform services using AWS technologies.
- Maintain high standards of software quality through code reviews, automated testing, and established engineering best practices.
- Mentor software developers and provide technical guidance to support successful project delivery.
- Contribute to technical design discussions and implementation decisions in collaboration with architects and Technical Leads.
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automated testing processes.
- Leverage AI-assisted software development tools, including Amazon Q Developer, throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and improve the performance, reliability, and security of production services.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, Product Owners, and Agile teams to refine requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Promote secure coding practices and continuous improvement across the engineering organization.
Minimum Experience:
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Experience with modern programming languages, frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience implementing automated testing and secure software development practices.
- Experience mentoring developers and supporting technical delivery.
