Mental Health Therapist - Outpatient, PT
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Provide Psychiatric and/or Chemical Dependency counseling services to the patients admitted to Piedmont Medic for Behavioral Health inpatient units.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Master's degree required
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical setting, either inpatient or outpatient / partial hospital setting addressing both psychiatric and chemical dependency issues with clients.
- A minimum of two years of supervised experience in psychiatric setting or addictive disease treatment setting, or minimum of three years of continuous active recovery in twelve step program.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
- Professional certification and/or licensure as LCSW; LMSW; LMFT; LPC or actively pursuing such certification and/or licensure with projected completion within 2.5 years of hire required.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
- CPI certification within the first 90 days of employment required
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication skills in both oral and written format.
- Flexibility to intervene on a moment's notice.
- Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance from team members when necessary.
- Knowledgeable in innovative therapeutic interventions for the population served.
- Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partner's needs.
- Basic computer skills
- Good working knowledge of community resources for psychiatry, psychotherapy, and mutual support groups in local and surrounding area.
