DLB Associates is seeking a Fluid2Chip Associate Director to lead next-generation cooling strategies for hyperscale environments. This role combines strategy, client engagement, and technical leadership to drive innovation and deliver high-quality programs.

Travel Requirements: Up to 50% travel; relocation may be considered for long-term project needs.

Job Summary

As the Fluid2Chip (F2C) Associate Director, you will oversee program execution, strengthen client relationships, and scale operations to support rapid growth. You will translate strategy into action, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest technical standards. This role blends business acumen, operational oversight, and strategic thinking.

The F2C Associate Director will be self-directed in day-to-day work, lead project teams and programs of complex scope, coordinate activities of other personnel, and assist in developing policies and procedures. You will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and departmental objectives.

Essential Functions
  • Program Leadership – Oversee multiple F2C programs from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with client goals and F2C standards.
  • Client Engagement – Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, managing expectations and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Operational Scaling – Implement processes, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to support rapid growth.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination – Collaborate with engineering, operations, and partner contractors to align deliverables.
  • Risk Management – Identify and mitigate project risks; resolve issues quickly to keep work on track.
  • Financial Oversight – Manage budgets, forecasts, and profitability metrics for assigned programs.
  • Talent Development – Mentor project managers and technical leads, building the next generation of leaders.
Requirements

Position Requirements (Advanced level for all the following):

  • Knowledge of mechanical and controls system principles with emphasis on liquid cooling technologies, including process piping design, fluid dynamics, and water treatment systems for high-performance environments.
  • Strong financial and contractual acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • MS Office Suite proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to apply expert knowledge of chiller plant systems to troubleshoot, validate, and optimize performance in data center environments.
  • Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows and drive innovation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with strong communication and self-motivation.
  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with clients as the primary point of contact.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; ability to work in interdepartmental groups.
  • Ability to identify and analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to plan and delegate work; certification goals (e.g., NFPA70E and/or OSHA) as required.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Travel / Relocation
  • Up to 50% travel; relocation may be required for long-term project needs.
  • Must be located near a major airport.
  • REAL ID or acceptable alternative required for travel per federal regulations (effective May 7, 2025).
  • Potential for international assignments.
Certifications
  • NFPA 70E / OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certifications as required; PMP or similar certification preferred.
Education / Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related discipline. Alternatively, two years of installation, testing, validation, and troubleshooting experience in mechanical and controls infrastructure, plus a minimum of thirteen years of additional relevant experience, including at least eight years in program management or business leadership within data centers or related industries.
