Job Description
The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician performs both planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues while continuously developing new technical skills. The technician uses strong critical-thinking abilities to troubleshoot complex problems, support reliable equipment performance, and contribute to safe, efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform planned (preventive) maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance needs, diagnosing and repairing equipment failures in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using critical-thinking skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Work with hydraulic systems, including inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing hydraulic components and circuits.
- Maintain and repair pneumatic systems, including valves, cylinders, and related components.
- Conduct mechanical repairs on production machinery, including adjustments, part replacements, and alignment tasks.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting on motors, drives, sensors, and control circuits to restore equipment to safe operating condition.
- Use PLC troubleshooting techniques, including working with Siemens and Allen-Bradley platforms, to identify and resolve control system issues.
- Document maintenance activities accurately, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance practices.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to prioritize work, share knowledge, and ensure smooth equipment operation.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working on mechanical and electrical systems to maintain a safe work environment.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated experience as a multi-craft maintenance technician working with both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability to perform planned, preventive maintenance with a focus on reliability and equipment uptime.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Hands-on experience with pneumatic systems and components.
- Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including motors, sensors, and control circuits.
- PLC troubleshooting experience, including working with Siemens and Allen-Bradley control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical information related to mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities when diagnosing equipment issues.
- Willingness and ability to learn new technical skills and adapt to evolving equipment and technologies.
- Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

- Experience in service and repair of a variety of production equipment.

Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing environment working with production equipment, mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. You will train on first shift for approximately 1 to 3 months, from 6:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the possibility of extended training depending on how quickly you learn the equipment and processes. After training, you will transition to a 12-hour rotating night shift schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with regular use of tools, test equipment, and PLC interfaces such as Siemens and Allen-Bradley systems.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carrollton, GA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
