As their Geotechnical Laboratory Technical Director, you’ll lead laboratory operations with no fieldwork or travel required—making this a rare and rewarding opportunity for a skilled leader in geotechnical testing. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Geotechnical Laboratory Technical Director position include:- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred; Civil Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related STEM field also acceptable- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)- At least 5 years of geotechnical/materials lab experience and 3+ years in a leadership role- Manage all aspects of lab operations, including staff oversight, scheduling, equipment maintenance, and calibrations- Perform and supervise advanced geotechnical and construction materials testing (Proctor, Atterberg Limits, Triaxial, CBR, etc.)- Ensure full compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, USACE, GDOT, and QMS procedures- Lead audits, maintain accreditations, and oversee QA/QC protocols- Provide staff training, client technical support, and performance reviews- Prepare, review, and finalize lab reports using proprietary software; MS Office proficiency required, QuickBooks a plusSalary: $100,000 - $200,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
