Job Purpose:

Our Manager - Master Data Management is accountable for the growth and development of the Master Data Management operation at Veritiv and associated processes. The Master Data Management function supports Veritiv's revenue growth strategy by overseeing the technical design of Product, Customer, and Supplier data ensuring that there is ONE source of truth for relevant master data points, that are made available to other functional areas to drive best operational efficiency and business strategy; and maintaining these data points accordingly for most optimal data health. The Oversight of this role includes the cross-functional interaction of the Product Setup team with MDM Generalists and associated delivery to the broader dependencies of Veritiv’s revenue strategy across all operating functions.

Job Responsibilities:

● Providing direction and alignment of Veritiv interests to the Master Data Management function specific to Customer and Supplier Data. Developing and incorporating best practices of product data collection/maintenance to broaden the MDM oversight to include accountability for Customer and Supplier data.
● Establishing key relationships and being a primary point of contact and liaison to ensure Salesforce Data Cloud needs are facilitated to support Master Data needs. Ensuring a data strategy that supports the specific needs of all Veritiv functions to maximize growth/revenue opportunities.
● Identifying key initiatives wherein a data strategy can more effectively optimize Veritiv’s operating structure. Enforcing data integrity practices.
● Providing adequate documentation to support Business awareness and use of MDM functional practices.
● Orchestrating and implementing a sustainable Data Governance practice throughout Veritiv.
● Partnering with business leaders to understand current and future strategies to identify solutions that will close data gaps and influence decisions.
● Coordinating with all stakeholder functions in Veritiv for data accessibility as needed. Facilitating relationships with technology providers and potential resources for departmental growth.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

● Management of the data accuracy and health of item master and legacy master item data. Create new/optimize current item setup and maintenance processes and work with internal customers to gain alignment on and meet expectations of SLA’s.

● Provide training and guidance to Master Data Management team to ensure they have the required skill sets needed as well as ensure they are developing new skill sets that align with their career development goals.

● Management of entry and maintenance of all item master data and extension into legacy systems requiring a general knowledge of downstream system integrations and resulting impacts.

● Institutionalization of processes to drive engagement and provide a high-level with key stakeholders and business leaders.

● Implement/Maintain communications processes and tools to drive engagement with business stakeholder and create transparency with business partners. Create and report Master Data Management team’s individual and overall KPI’s.

● Partner with business to ensure Customer & Supplier data is setup and flowing properly to avoid communication issues and create a great user experience.

● Conduct market research to identify new trends and opportunities to collect new (relevant) data attributes.

● SME of master data for MDM leadership team and data governance council.

Work Experience:

● 5-10 years of related job experience.

Education:

● Master's Degree Preferred
