Our client is a Miami based developer who opened Atlanta in 2020. They develop, build and manage multi-family projects. They do concrete form construction (no stick) and have a system in place that supports and develops this. This developer has a robust in-house team to make things run smoothly. The Parent company is a Brazilian Company. The company culture is full of engineers, and they are very safety oriented and structured. They value family and are focused on delivery quality work.
One of their first projects is in West Atlanta, a 400 plus Unit community. This mixed-use building has both retail and a coffee shop included in the plan.
We are currently seeking Assistant Superintendents with Interior build-out experience, as well as a Project Engineer.
They have the shell team and are now hiring the interior team.
Experience Preferable: Superintendent degree is optional, Engineer degree is preferred
Software used : BIM 360,
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates and supervises subcontractors and/or craft activities assigned to area of responsibility.
- Plans and controls short term schedule (3 week look ahead).
- Determines method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources and work schedule.
- Documents, validates, and timely communicates subcontractor back charges
- Responsible for completion of Superintendent Daily Report with manpower count, activities performed, issues reported, material delivery, weather conditions, accidents occurred, amongst other notable events, for all major trades for document control.
- Responsibility for creating punch list and coordinate timely completion of it.
- Works with the PE to understand which permits are open, has complete control of the inspection process and coordinates with subcontractor’s necessary inspections through CO and communicate results to PE.
- Acts as liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning areas to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications and schedule.
- Acts as liaison with other departments to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.
- Assists in resolving construction problems such as lack of productivity and work interaction issues.
- Execute Quality Control (QC) duties such as conduct inspections, provide technical and administrative direction, oversee the maintenance of records and documents for the quality control area.
- Supports corrective measures are implemented in cases of noncompliance.
- Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of three years’ work experience in construction supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field desired.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
Knowledge and Skills
- General knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups.
- Understand contractual scope of work.
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to express ideas clearly and objectively, orally and in writing.
- Fluency in Spanish preferred.
- Ability to perform according to agreed plans with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge in MS Office, ProCore, AutoCAD and Microsoft Project 2016 preferred.
