Alumni Relations Director Location Macon, GA : About Us Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. Job Summary
The Alumni Director provides leadership for alumni relations programs and annual giving functions that complements and supports the mission of the institution. This position is responsible for overall administration of the Alumni Relations office, including strategic planning, fiscal management, staffing, and program development; serves as the Executive Director of the Alumni Association Board; assists the association's board of directors in strengthening the university's ties with its alumni; and is a key team member in the university advancement effort.
Responsibilities
Alumni Fundraising Duties (55%) - Manages the implementation and design of the alumni annual fund Manages volunteers and leaders for the internal faculty/staff annual campaign. Manages a major gifts portfolio. Manages and oversee student callers for the annual thank-a-thon and phone-a-thon. Supervise the creation and mailing of all announcements and appeals. Develops alumni programming with university schools and departments to enhance academic support aid and assist them in reaching their internal goals. Alumni Administrative Duties (30%) - Develops and implements a comprehensive alumni program; plans and organizes alumni events, which include special events, reunions, regional alumni events, student alumni relations, and career networking efforts. Manages use and maintenance of alumni records and other files. Variety of Related Duties (15%) - Assist scholarship application and awarding process for the institution. Manages the Middle Georgia State University Foundation Web site. Develops positive internal and external community relations within the Middle Georgia region and the universities 5 campuses. Performs related duties as assigned by Vice President of University Advancement
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree Required Experience Work experience in a College or University environment. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
