Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager for Bicycles to lead our service department. The candidate needs to possess strong leadership skills and a passion for customer service, ensuring that our clients receive top-notch bicycle maintenance services. This role requires a hands-on approach, as well as the ability to manage a team of service technicians effectively. The Service Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, maintaining high standards of service quality, and fostering a positive work environment. They will be required to service both regular and ebikes.

Ride On Bikes is locally owned shop in the Uptown community of Columbus GA. It opened in 2003 as a bike rental shop and has grown over the years to include service, new bikes and a previously loved section. It is just 2 blocks from 20 miles of Riverwalk trails for biking and running that lead to endless miles of safe road riding on Fort Benning. Columbus has the biggest whitewater rapids east of the Mississippi. Standing Boy is the local Mountain Bike trail system with 30 miles of natural surface along the shores of the Chattahoochee. 1.5hr from Atlanta, 2.5hrs from Birmingham and 45min to Auburn AL, it's a small town feel with all the big city accommodations. We welcome all riders; fast, slow, young and young at heart, we think everyone should have a bike to ride!

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
• Manage and mentor a team of mechanics and service technicians, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Ensure all bike maintenance and repair work is performed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain strong customer relationships by providing exceptional customer service and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
• Coordinate with the sales team to promote services and upsell additional repairs or maintenance packages.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members.
• Handle administrative tasks related to service operations, including scheduling, managing inventory and warranties.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest bike technology and repair techniques and continuously improve personal skills through training and hands-on experiences.

Experience

• Proven experience in bike maintenance and repair, with specific skills in brake repair and general mechanic duties.
• Strong background in customer service, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with guest.
• Familiarity with hand tools and equipment used in bike maintenance.
• Experience in managing or leading a team is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during bike repairs or maintenance tasks.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency within the service department.
