The Role
As the Public Affairs Manager for North America, you will be instrumental in shaping urban mobility by developing and implementing government relations/public affairs strategies. This role involves influencing policy at the municipality level across cities in North America, strategically managing agencies, and empowering Arrive's North American teams to engage effectively with policymakers. You'll contribute to a global vision, collaborating with international colleagues to set the public affairs strategy in North America.

By influencing decision-makers, promoting innovative solutions, and fostering business growth, you will directly contribute to advancing Arrive's mission to make cities more livable. What You'll Do
Develop and implement government affairs strategies that influence policies and introduce innovative solutions to improve urban living.
Dissect intricate policy details and evaluate their far-reaching implications, and have an appetite to learn the legislative and regulatory landscape.
Provide strategic management of government relations/public affairs agencies, overseeing and coordinating activities in North America, ensuring alignment with Arrive's business strategy and priority objectives.
Create conditions for North American teams to succeed in their engagement with policymakers, think tanks, third party organizations and opinion leaders.
Lead the strategy for public affairs in North America, and on occasion provide expertise and support to colleagues in other international markets.
What Success Looks Like
In 30 days:
Build a deep understanding of Arrive’s global mobility strategy, business priorities, and policy landscape in North America.
Establish strong working relationships with internal stakeholders (communications, legal, product, sales teams).
Review key external stakeholders (government agencies, industry associations, city authorities, and third party partnerships)
Manage existing agencies and identify and onboard new agencies
In 90 days:
Develop and begin executing a public affairs engagement plan aligned with Arrive’s strategic priorities in North America.
Represent or support leadership to represent regulatory discussions
Secure meaningful dialogue with priority stakeholders (e.g., municipal leaders, policymakers, third party organizations) to advance Arrive’s mobility agenda in our priority cities
In 6 months:
Provide actionable policy insights and risk assessments to leadership, positioning Arrive as a trusted partner to cities and regulators.
Demonstrate measurable impact by shaping or influencing at least one policy or regulatory outcome favorable to Arrive’s business.
Position Arrive to policymakers as a thought leader in North American mobility policy through partnerships, sponsored events, and external advocacy.
Who You Are
We're looking for someone who embodies our values and is excited about transforming urban mobility:
Essential Experience
6-12 years of public affairs/government relations experience in a fast-paced tech, transport, smart cities initiative or digital payments environment
Working knowledge of the complexities of city hall
Strong network and hands-on experience engaging with municipal policymakers in North America, with a demonstrable ability to influence policy change, delivering global or North American strategies
Proven track record of successfully managing and leading lobbyists and agencies to develop and execute public affairs strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and goals.
Ability to translate complex regulatory issues into clear, compelling narratives to both policy makers and business leaders
A self-starter with a strategic, intrapreneurial, mindset
Bonus Points
Previous policy change experience and demonstrated experience in a transportation nonprofit policy team, automotive policy team
Established thought leadership (e.g. speaking at industry events, publishing articles, or shaping public debates) in the mobility or urban policy space
Proven success in building public-private partnerships with cities, NGOs or industry coalitions
Multimarket perspective, with experience navigating global companies or working across international teams
Excellent verbal and written communication in a second language
