Shift: Full-Time, Hourly (Rotating 3/2 schedule 12 hours)
Compensation: $21.00 to $25.50 Competitive pay based on experience.

***Sign On Bonus Eligible $3,000 (1/2 paid 1/2 at six months and 1/2 paid at one year).

We are seeking someone with 1–2 years of prior experience working in a quality department within a manufacturing environment who is ready to support daily quality operations and continuous improvement.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a quality department within a manufacturing environment. This role is essential to upholding and improving the Quality Culture at our Rome facility. As a key partner to operations, maintenance, engineering, and supplier teams, the Quality Technician serves as a “Voice of the Customer” by ensuring product integrity and process compliance across all production shifts.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform quality checks, lab testing, and documentation audits
• Support production teams with training on quality procedures
• Investigate product issues and assist in corrective actions
• Monitor and manage materials in the Quality Hold area
• Work closely with operations, engineering, and suppliers

What We’re Looking For:

• 1–2 years of quality experience in a manufacturing setting
• Familiarity with SQF or other food safety programs preferred
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Strong communication and ability to work with all employees amongst all departments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily Tasks

1. Review and sign off on the Operator Quality Control Logs and other Quality paperwork to ensure accuracy and completeness.
2. Complete standard Quality Lab tests per QC Quality Control Log.
3. Conduct frequent rounds of all production processes. In addition to standard quality checks, these rounds will include visual inspection of tear sheets, WIP, and palletized products.
4. Complete COAs as required, including additional requirements for customer specific COAs.
5. Train operators on your shift on quality procedures and systems as well as any changes in Quality Department documentation.
6. Ensure all material entering the Quality Hold area have accurate and complete Hold Tag with detailed notes on issue. Keep Quarantine Area organized. Ensure material on hold is processed in a timely manner. Assist with disposition as needed.
7. Ensure Quality Hold procedure is being followed. Review prior and following rolls to ensure all defective material is captured.

9. File retains generated on assigned shift
10. Ensure DMRs that occur on your shift are properly documented.
11. Communicate with on-coming shift Quality Technician regarding any issues related to safety, quality holds, machine concerns, SQF concerns, etc.
12. Assist in corrective action investigations that occurred on assigned or covered shift.
13. Complete Lab Cleaning records per schedule
14. Ensure GC gas supply is adequate.
15. Ensure that all investigations and additional testing are recorded and communicated with Quality Department.
16. Review and sign off on Operator Quality Control Logs and quality documentation for accuracy and completeness.
17. Perform standard quality lab tests per QC protocols.
18. Conduct production floor rounds for quality checks, including tear sheet and product visual inspections.
19. Complete and issue Certificates of Analysis (COAs) as required, including customer-specific requirements.
20. Train production team members on quality procedures and updates to quality documentation.
21. Maintain the Quality Hold area: tag and document nonconforming materials, support timely disposition, and ensure compliance with hold procedures.
22. Log and process DMRs, ensuring clear communication across shifts.
23. Support corrective action investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
24. Clean and maintain lab areas according to schedule.
25. Ensure adequate GC gas supply and documentation of additional investigations or tests.

Additional Duties:

1. Lead and participate in quality system improvement projects.
2. Investigate internal and customer-reported quality concerns.
3. Process customer returns and assist in rework and final disposition.
4. Handle DMR entry, sample coordination, and shipment of returned rolls.
5. Support audits, training coverage, and internal team initiatives (e.g., Safety Team).
6. File QC documentation and maintain compliance records.
7. Conduct internal quality audits and help uphold SQF or food safety standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1–2 years of direct experience in a quality department supporting a manufacturing operation.
• Experience in GFSI-compliant environments (SQF preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to interpret quality standards and apply them in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with Radius ERP system.
• ASQ, HACCP, or SQF certifications (or willingness to pursue).
