Product Manager - Healthcare Payments

Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking a Product Manager to lead user-facing patient payment solutions within the Healthcare vertical. This role is responsible for driving the end-to-end product lifecycle, from strategy through execution, for applications that enable seamless, secure, and intuitive payment experiences for patients and healthcare providers.
The Product Manager will serve as the primary owner of product strategy, roadmap, and backlog, driving cross-functional alignment while leveraging modern tools, including AI, to improve team effectiveness and product outcomes.
This role requires a strong product-builder mindset, including the ability to rapidly validate ideas through prototyping, leverage AI-enabled workflows throughout the product lifecycle, and continuously iterate products in close partnership with Design and Engineering teams. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in an AI-forward environment where experimentation, customer feedback, data, and rapid learning drive product decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned to U.S. Bank and Merchant Payment Services (MPS) priorities
Translate market trends, customer needs, and business objectives into clear product strategies and prioritized initiatives
Leverage AI-enabled tools and insights to enhance decision-making, roadmap planning, and prioritization
Serve as the voice of the customer, with a strong focus on usability and accessibility
Evaluate emerging AI capabilities and identify opportunities to improve customer experiences, operational efficiency, and product differentiation
Develop and test product hypotheses using customer research, analytics, prototypes, proofs of concept, and experimentation frameworks
Product Discovery, Prototyping & Validation
Lead product discovery efforts by partnering with customers, Design, Engineering, and business stakeholders to identify unmet needs and validate opportunities
Create or direct the creation of low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes, wireframes, workflows, and MVP concepts to rapidly test assumptions
Utilize modern prototyping and AI-assisted product development tools to accelerate ideation and customer feedback cycles
Translate customer insights and prototype learnings into actionable roadmap recommendations and product investments
Facilitate iterative testing, usability reviews, and feedback loops to ensure products solve meaningful customer problems before development investment
Execution & Delivery
Own and maintain the product backlog, including epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Lead Agile ceremonies and ensure predictable, high-quality delivery across product teams
Partner with Engineering and Design to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Incorporate AI tools and automation to drive team efficiencies in backlog management, workflow optimization, and delivery tracking
Drive an iterative product development approach that emphasizes incremental value delivery, rapid feedback cycles, and continuous learning
Balance short-term delivery commitments with long-term product strategy through ongoing prioritization and roadmap refinement
Cross-Functional Leadership
Act as the central point of coordination across Product, Engineering, Design, Operations, Sales, and Marketing
Drive alignment across stakeholders and ensure clear, consistent communication of priorities and trade-offs
Champion the adoption of AI-driven efficiencies across the Product organization, enabling improved collaboration and productivity
Ensure downstream teams (Operations, Client Support, Sales) are prepared for successful product rollout and adoption
Foster a collaborative product trio model with Design and Engineering leaders, jointly owning customer outcomes, delivery execution, and product quality
Lead decision-making through evidence-based discussions, incorporating customer insights, analytics, experimentation results, and technical feasibility
Performance & Continuous Improvement
Track and analyze product performance to drive continuous iteration and optimization
Identify opportunities to improve product delivery processes through AI, automation, and data insights
Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, outcomes, and strategic direction
Establish success metrics for new capabilities and use product analytics to guide ongoing iteration and investment decisions
Champion a culture of experimentation, learning, and continuous product improvement
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Product Management or Product Development
Strong expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and complex product initiatives
Demonstrated experience in driving product strategy, prioritization, and execution
Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., copilots, automation, analytics tools) to improve team efficiency and decision-making
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels
Experience working in an AI-forward product organization where AI tools are integrated into discovery, planning, development, or operational workflows
Experience creating, reviewing, or guiding product prototypes, wireframes, proofs of concept, or MVPs as part of the product discovery process
Demonstrated success iterating products based on customer feedback, usability testing, analytics, and experimentation
Experience partnering closely with Design and Engineering teams to deliver user-centered digital experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare technology, patient payments, or fintech/payments ecosystems
Familiarity with user-facing applications and digital experience optimization (UX/UI)
Experience ensuring compliance with WCAG, ADA, or other accessibility standards in digital products
Understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations in healthcare or financial services
Experience with product discovery methodologies such as Design Thinking, Lean Startup, Jobs-to-Be-Done, or Outcome-Driven Innovation
Experience using modern prototyping and collaboration tools such as Replit, Figma, Mural, FigJam, Lucid, or similar platforms
Experience building or managing AI-enabled product features and customer experiences

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside of the location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
