Job Title: Roofing Estimator - Commercial & Public-Sector Projects

Position Summary:
A well-established commercial roofing contractor with over 20 years of experience is seeking a skilled Roofing Estimator with a strong background in public-sector and commercial projects. This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates, supporting the bid process, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders for projects ranging from small-scale renovations to large federal contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and documents to prepare detailed estimates

• Perform material take-offs and labor calculations for roofing systems (SBS, TPO, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, Metal, etc.)

• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers for quotes and availability

• Collaborate with project managers and other departments during the pre-construction phase

• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required

• Prepare and submit comprehensive bid packages in accordance with client requirements

• Maintain and update historical cost databases and pricing information

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial roofing estimating

• Familiarity with public-sector and government contract requirements is preferred

• Proficiency with estimating tools such as Edge, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel

• Strong knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and construction techniques

• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings

• High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with federal contracts (e.g., Army Corps of Engineers, VA, GSA, DOD)

• Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore

• OSHA 10/30 Certification
