Accounting Assistant

Kforce has a client in Augusta, MO that is seeking an Accounting Assistant. Position Summary: The Accounting Assistant supports the accounting function by performing a variety of clerical and administrative accounting duties across multiple locations. This role assists with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll preparation, tax support, and financial close activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of financial information. Key Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable invoices for all company locations, ensuring accuracy and proper coding
• Record daily retail sales transactions for all locations in a timely and accurate manner
• Support accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, preparation of weekly deposits, and related reporting
• Prepare payroll data and documentation for processing in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations
• Assist with annual licensing requirements for all locations, including documentation and tracking
• Support fixed asset tracking and maintenance of asset records for all locations
• Assist with the preparation and filing of local, state, and federal tax obligations, including sales tax, use tax, and excise tax
• Provide support during month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and documentation as needed
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent relevant accounting experience
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (preferred)
