Warehouse and Lowndes County Delivery Driver
Summary Perform physical duties related to receiving inventory and order fulfillment as well as short-haul driving deliveries. Short haul driver to deliver products from local warehouse to customers within a specified route. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to routing, loading, unloading, and delivering multiple stops per day on multiple runs per day. When not driving, will strive to maintain accurate inventory locations, clean and orderly warehouse inventory, and precise fulfillment rates. Schedule resides within Monday to Friday with no travel outside 80 miles of origin point. Duties
- Provide superior customer service at all times
- Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures
- Efficiently and accurately route, load and safely deliver in accordance with company standards
- Utilize hand-held device technology to capture signatures for all deliveries
- Support warehouse operations, including pulling, checking, stocking and other tasks
- Perform routine inspections of delivery vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and safety
- Abide by company dress code policy and ensure a professional presentation at all times
- Partner with sales team and other departments to ensure efficient and coordinated customer service
- Adhere to all safety and compliance guidelines, including policy and procedure for the operation of company vehicles and warehouse equipment
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition
- Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles
- Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations
- Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations, such as railroad stations, plants, residences, offices, or industrial yards
- Perform emergency repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, or spark plugs
- Participate in the receiving and fulfillment of all inventory
- Maintain stock in appropriate locations while rotating stock
- Ensure logical placement, neat arrangement, and cleanliness of merchandise
- Perform routine physical duties; including not limited to, loading of trucks, maintenance of grounds, custodial work, and directed movement of inventory
- Lead, guide, and train new staff in performing related work; as appropriate to the area of operation
- Maintain obedience to supervisor in newly assigned task(s)
- Pull any defective merchandise & follow procedure for removal
- Update labels in warehouse as directed
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Valid Driver's License
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report
- Ability to pass a DOT Physical Exam, Background Check and Drug Screen
- Ability to consistently lift or slide items up to 100 lbs; Continuous physical exertion including bending, stooping, climbing, and walking.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to read and comprehend manifests and material safety data sheets
- Proficiency with forklift and/or order-picking equipment is a plus
- Ability to work in seasonal hot/humid environments with temperatures exceeding 100F at times OR in our cooler climate locations with temperatures close to freezing
- Bi-lingual
- Proficient with vehicle location and tracking software
- Forklift experience
