Transflo Leadman/Operator
Overview:
The Transflo Leadman is responsible for safely operating and maintaining all transloading equipment and ensuring efficient transfer of bulk commodities between railcars and trucks. This position leads a small crew, oversees daily transloading operations, and ensures compliance with all safety and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate clearly with railroads, customers, and management to coordinate operations.
- Perform all aspects of transloading, including unloading cars, venting hatches, operating pumps, turning valves, connecting hoses, and inspecting cargo.
- Safely operate jockey trucks and other material-handling equipment as required.
- Lead and support crew members in following safety and operational protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation and handle all related paperwork.
- Assist with standard maintenance and housekeeping of the facility.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Eligibility to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with MS Outlook, and related software.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in transloading, logistics, or industrial operations preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and strong communication skills.
