Student Pastor

MINISTRY DESCRIPTION: Lakewood Baptist Church is searching for a Student Pastor to serve on our NextGen Team who will be responsible for the day to day oversight of our student ministry with a primary focus on high school students. This person will work under the direction of our NextGen Pastor to give leadership to our student ministry staff team (middle school minister, girls’ minister and administrative assistant), oversee our weekly student worship and discipleship environments and plan strategic events throughout the year. Lakewood has a well-established student ministry that is reaching over 250 students to help them live for God, love the church and lead others to Christ. We are looking for someone with a passion for the Lord who is able to relate well with students but also has the maturity to lead staff, parents and adult volunteers. Responsibilities include: connecting with high school students both on and off campus, teaching in our mid-week high school worship experience, leading staff meetings, developing adult leaders and volunteer teams, managing budgets, planning large events, leading mission trips, reaching lost and unchurched students in the community, discipling students and developing student leaders. This position is designed for someone who has already had some significant student ministry experience and is ready to lead at the next level through supervising staff while also directly leading high school students and adult volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

• Someone with a high view of God’s Word and the gospel.
• Someone who feels called to ministry and loves the local church.
• Someone with a master’s degree from a seminary (or working towards this).
• Someone with at least 3 years of student ministry experience (some of which must be on a student ministry staff in a local church).
• Someone who is willing to lead and be led (humble, teachable).
• Someone who is a team-player and team-builder.
• Someone who loves teenagers!
