LTC Pharmacist Hours

• M-F 9 AM to 6 PM

LTC Pharmacist Compensation

• The pay for this position is $66.00 an hour for weekdays, $68.00 an hour for weekends
• Benefits are available to full-time employees
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees.

LTC Pharmacist Responsibilities

• Accept and dispense prescription medications.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
• Ensure that the supply of medicines is within the law.
• Ensure that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable.
• Accurately maintain confidential records of all patients and ensure proper management of patient records and pharmacy files.
• Advise patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answer patients' questions.
• Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Provide services to patients, such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for external or internal use.
• Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff members including pharmacy technicians and pharmacy clerks.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Identify patient drug-related problems and effectively communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners.
• Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, and pharmacy interns.

LTC Pharmacist Requirements

• Licensed Pharmacist
• Long term care/retail experience is a plus!
