Director of Maintenance Technician (A&P)
About the Opportunity:
Join us as a Director of Maintenance Technician (A&P) at Gwinnett County Airport (LZU) in the Atlanta area. We are a technician-led MRO and charter operator specializing in turboprops and light jets, focused on precision, craftsmanship, and accountability. In this role, you’ll work closely with our Lead Mechanic to ensure aircraft meet the highest technical and regulatory standards while helping strengthen and grow our maintenance operation.
Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turboprop and light jet aircraft.
- Troubleshoot complex airframe, powerplant, and system issues.
- Serve as a second-signature reviewer in our double-mechanic quality assurance process.
- Ensure FAA compliance and maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
- Promote strong safety and quality standards across the shop.
- Mentor junior mechanics and support team development.
- Travel to Tulsa, OK for paid Piaggio training and refurbishment work as needed.
Requirements:
- Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
- 10+ years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience.
- Current MRO experience with turboprop or light jet aircraft.
- Experience with King Air and/or Cessna Citation aircraft.
- PT6-powered aircraft experience preferred.
- Piaggio experience is a plus (training provided).
