About the Opportunity
DFC Manufacturing Group is offering a Department of Defense SkillBridge training opportunity for transitioning service members interested in building a career in skilled trades and manufacturing.
This is a 180-day, hands-on training program designed to develop foundational and intermediate skills in fabrication and assembly within a production environment. Participants will work alongside experienced professionals to learn processes related to die components, stripping, blanking systems, and general fabrication techniques required to succeed in the industry.
This program is structured as a training experience. Participants remain on active duty and continue to receive pay and benefits from the Department of Defense during the program.

What You Will LearnDuring this program, participants will receive hands-on training in:
- Reading and interpreting assembly drawings, job specifications, and production layouts
- Assisting in the assembly of dies, strippers, blankers, and related components
- Cutting, fitting, and installing rubber, ejection materials, and hardware
- Using hand tools and fabrication equipment safely and effectively
- Performing basic measuring and layout tasks to ensure proper fit and alignment
- Supporting fabrication processes for die components and assemblies
- Performing visual inspections and assisting with quality checks
- Understanding production workflows and manufacturing processes
- Identifying defects and supporting troubleshooting efforts
This program follows a structured 180-day progression including:
- Safety training and shop fundamentals
- Fabrication fundamentals and material handling
- Assembly of stripping and blanking components
- Tooling support and installation techniques
- Intermediate fabrication and assembly tasks
- Quality control and defect identification
- Exposure to advanced fabrication and finishing processes
- Final evaluation through supervised assembly and fabrication projects
Participants will gradually move from observation to hands-on contribution with increasing levels of independence.
