Head Baker
B-SIDE Our Next Door Bagel / Coffe Shop is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Baker to lead our growing bakery program. This is an opportunity for someone who loves both the craft of baking and the challenge of building a positive, high-performing team. You'll oversee the daily production of artisan breads, pastries, desserts, and specialty items for our restaurants, as well as our busy Saturday farmers market.
We're looking for a baker who believes that great food starts with great people.
What You'll Do- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of bakers in a positive, respectful, and professional kitchen.
- Produce exceptional artisan breads, laminated pastries, breakfast pastries, desserts, cookies, and seasonal baked goods.
- Oversee production for multiple restaurant locations and our Saturday farmers market.
- Create efficient production schedules to ensure consistency and quality.
- Develop seasonal specials and collaborate with the culinary team on new menu items.
- Maintain the highest standards of organization, cleanliness, and food safety.
- Manage inventory, ordering, waste reduction, and food costs.
- Train new team members and help build a culture of continuous learning.
- Ensure every product leaving the bakery reflects B-SIDE's commitment to craftsmanship.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of professional baking experience, with leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of naturally leavened breads, yeasted doughs, laminated doughs, pastries, and desserts.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lead with humility, accountability, and positivity.
- Passion for mentoring others and creating a healthy kitchen culture.
- Comfortable working early mornings and adapting to changing production needs.
- High standards for consistency, quality, and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced production environment.
