A small Animal Hospital in Chamblee GA is looking for an energetic, compassionate, and dependable Veterinary Assistant who truly loves animals and enjoys helping people. We are searching for someone with a positive attitude who takes pride in providing exceptional patient care and outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Safely restrain and handle patients
• Assist the veterinarian during examinations, treatments, and surgeries
• Prepare exam rooms and surgical suites
• Collect patient histories and record medical information
• Administer medications and treatments as directed
• Monitor hospitalized patients
• Draw blood, collect urine and fecal samples, and perform in-house laboratory testing
• Take and process digital radiographs
• Place and maintain IV catheters (experience preferred)
• Prepare and administer vaccines and medications under veterinary supervision
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Fill prescriptions and prepare medications
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment and treatment areas
• Assist with dental procedures
• Educate clients on medications, home care, nutrition, and preventive medicine
• Help maintain inventory and stock supplies
• Assist with admissions and discharges of patients
• Support reception when needed by answering phones, scheduling appointments, and greeting clients
• Keep the hospital clean, organized, and running efficiently
