AI/ML Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an AI/ML Engineer for a Contract with a client in New York, NY/Alpharetta, GA. Candidates must have strong expertise in LLM engineering and multi-agent workflows, while also implementing robust RAG pipelines and enforcing security guardrails.

Rate Range: $53/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

AI/ML Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and productionize agentic AI systems that autonomously plan tasks, call tools, and reason over structured and unstructured data.

• Architect and implement tool-using agents with capabilities like routing, planning, reflection, and memory/state management.

• Build multi-agent workflows using frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI to enable collaborative AI processes.

• Develop robust Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, including indexing, hybrid search, and reranking, ensuring citation-first outputs.

• Enforce safety and compliance guardrails, including prompt/policy templates, PII redaction, and structured outputs (JSON/Pydantic).

• Perform data science and ML tasks such as feature engineering, model selection, error analysis, and combining symbolic rules with learned models for reliability.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field.

• 4–6 years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with hands-on work in LLMs and agentic AI systems.

• Proven expertise in building multi-agent workflows and tool-using agents using frameworks like LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI.

• Strong proficiency in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques and enforcing AI safety guardrails.

Pay Details: $53.00 to $60.00 per hour
