Senior Cyber Security Engineer (Healthcare)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to lead and enhance cybersecurity initiatives for a leading healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical security expertise, hands-on experience in vulnerability management, risk assessment, and cloud security , and a solid understanding of healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA, HITECH, NIST, and HITRUST. This role is critical to protecting sensitive healthcare data and shaping the organization’s long-term security architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead comprehensive security assessments across healthcare systems, applications, and infrastructure.



• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, HITECH, NIST, HITRUST).



• Conduct vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and threat modeling to identify and mitigate risks.



• Develop and maintain risk models, policies, and documentation for audit readiness.



• Design and implement scalable security controls across cloud and on-premise environments.



• Support incident response and root cause analysis for security events.



• Collaborate with technical and business teams to improve overall security posture .



• Evaluate and deploy emerging security technologies (XDR, Zero Trust, etc.).

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field .



• 
  5+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity .



• In-depth knowledge of healthcare security standards (HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST).



• Proficiency with vulnerability management tools (Nessus, Qualys, Burp Suite) and SIEM platforms .



• Strong understanding of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).



• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.



• Preferred certifications: CISSP, OSCP, CISM, HCISPP , or equivalent.
