The Role:
As a Project Engineer, you’ll work closely with the Project Manager to support all phases of building automation projects from design through execution. This role is hands-on, requiring both technical expertise and strong collaboration with engineers, contractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate control drawings as specified in contract documents.
- Create bills of materials based on developed control drawings.
- Prepare and compile submittals (control drawings, BOM, equipment cut sheets) for review and approval.
- Revise and resubmit documentation until final acceptance of system design.
- Maintain version control and ensure all team members are informed of drawing changes.
- Generate As-Built documentation at project completion.
- Assist Project Manager with:
- Material acquisition
- Job site meetings
- RFIs and communication with stakeholders
- On-site technical support for complex installations or sequences of operations
- Collaborate with the frontend development team on programming and graphical user interface design.
- Support commissioning by facilitating efficient information flow between field specialists and development staff.
- React to project changes and challenges quickly and effectively.
- Conduct research into project-related issues, products, and solutions.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 3–5 years of field knowledge in HVAC and/or building automation
- Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics preferred
- Technical Skills:
- AutoCAD 2D experience a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
- Professional Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Able to work independently or within a team
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and timelines
- Professional appearance and work ethic
