The Assembler II performs basic routine electronic assembly operations on components and sub-assemblies. This position uses visual aids, wiring lists and verbal and written instructions to assemble, modify, rework, or reassemble units.

Pay Rate:
$17.00-20.00/hr

Schedule/Hours:
7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday-Friday. OT Required as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Solders basic electronic thru-hole components (capacitors, resisters, etc.).
• Assembles thru-hole and surface mount assemblies.
• Assembles basic mechanical assemblies.
• Preps parts to customer specifications.
• Understands and execute circuit-cam and work instructions.
• Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge (position requirements at entry):

• Lead and Lead Free Solder applications.
• IPC 610 (Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3)
• Understanding of ESD.

Skills (position requirements at entry):

• Communication; interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Must have fine motor skills and high degree of dexterity and eye coordination to work with and assemble small parts and subassemblies using both hands.

Minimum Requirements

• Solder components using magnifying glass.
• Identify thru-hole component values and polarities.
• 1-2 years’ experience in electronics manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to complete J-STD-001 training and maintain certification in thru-hole assembly.
• Must maintain certifications in thru-hole assembly.
• Ability to perform basic rework (remove solder bridges and or solder splash).

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a clean room environment and follow the clean room environment practices and procedures.
• Must be able to understand verbal and written work instructions.
• Must be able to perform repetitive work according to set procedures, sequence and pace.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions is required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work using a microscope for 6-8 hours daily.
• Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. in an 8 hour shift.

Software used:

• Intermediate computer knowledge including Word and Excel.
