Part-Time Librarian (15 hours/week)

Position Summary

Gammon Theological Seminary seeks a part-time Librarian to support the research, teaching, and learning needs of students and faculty. The Librarian manages access to our digital and physical collections, provides research assistance, and collaborates with faculty and staff to strengthen academic support for a diverse student body.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage and maintain access to the Digital Theological Library (DTL2) and other online resources.

· Provide research and reference assistance to students and faculty, including instruction on theological research tools.

· Develop online guides, tutorials, or workshops to enhance information literacy, especially for hybrid and bi-vocational learners.

· Coordinate course reserves and resource lists in collaboration with faculty.

· Assist with cataloging and organization of any print or archival collections.

· Maintain records, usage statistics, and reports for accreditation purposes.

· Collaborate with Academic Dean, Academic Support Specialist, and Student Services to integrate library services into student success efforts.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Library Science or equivalent work experience preferred.

· Experience in theological, academic, or digital library settings strongly desired.

· Ability to support graduate students who are first-generation, bi-vocational, or managing multiple responsibilities.

· Familiarity with digital platforms (e.g., Populi, DTL2, research databases).

· Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Appointment & Evaluation

This is a part-time appointment on a year-to-year renewable contract. The Librarian will be evaluated annually by the Academic Dean for effectiveness in supporting student learning, faculty teaching, and the Seminary’s mission.
