  • Unit: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) — Level III/IV neonatal care
  • Start Date: April 6, 2026
  • End Date: July 4, 2026
  • Duration: 13 weeks (travel nursing opportunity)
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Candidate Note: Open to travel nurses; no local candidates within 50 miles

Compensation

  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $1500-$1580 per week (based on 36 guaranteed hours)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience in a Level III or Level IV NICU
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific licensure required)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
  • Demonstrated clinical skills in neonatal intensive care, ventilator management, and high-acuity patient management
  • Experience with advanced neonatal therapies (e.g., HFOV, inhaled nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia) preferred
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends as scheduled

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neonates, including infants as early as 22 weeks gestation
  • Perform neonatal resuscitation and manage complex airway and ventilator settings, including High Frequency Oscillator Ventilation (HFOV)
  • Administer and monitor advanced therapies such as therapeutic cooling, inhaled nitric oxide (iNO), and continuous IV drips
  • Insert, monitor, and maintain central lines and other vascular access devices; manage infusion therapy safely
  • Continuously assess and document patient status, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record
  • Collaborate closely with neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary care team to optimize neonatal outcomes
  • Provide family-centered education, emotional support, and clear communication to parents and caregivers throughout the NICU stay
