Job Summary:

Southside Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a Part-Time Youth Director who will lead and disciple students (grades 6-12) to develop and grow as followers of Jesus Christ. The Youth Director will be responsible for leading a student ministry that focuses on reaching and teaching the next generation through Bible studies, prayer, service, and fellowship.

We are seeking someone who has a genuine love for Christ and His Word, a passion for teaching and leading students through a commitment to the Word of God, and a desire to encourage spiritual growth and relationships within the youth group and the church family.

Responsibilities:

Spiritual Leadership & Discipleship: To provide sound biblical teaching and guidance to encourage and help students to grow in their faith.

Youth Ministry Preparation: To plan and lead weekly youth services, Bible studies, small groups, and discipleship meetings. Must be dependable and committed, arriving early, being prepared to lead, and able to cooperate with other leaders.

Outreach & Evangelism: To engage and interact with students inside and outside the church, building relationships that encourage outreach and community involvement.

Events & Activities: To organize retreats, mission trips, camps, and other special events to promote spiritual growth and fellowship.

Discipling/Mentorship: To set an example for living out the Christian life and to provide one-on-one mentoring and counseling to students as needed. Meets with pastor regularly for personal discipleship, encouragement, and support.

Volunteer Development: To recruit, train, and equip volunteers who can assist with the youth ministry.

Family Engagement: To partner with parents to support the spiritual development of their children in the home.

Administrative Duties: To manage and prepare budget requests, to communicate effectively and clearly with church leadership team and parents, and to maintain a safe and structured environment for students.

Qualifications:

Has a vital, growing personal walk with Christ through committed Bible study, Christian fellowship, and prayer.

Has a genuine desire to teach, lead, and guide students to know Christ and to make Him known.

Has an ability to relate well to students in a spiritually engaging and enriching environment.

Has a faithful, humble, teachable spirit and ability to work well with others, supporting the overall ministry of the church, in connection with the pastor and leadership team.

Meets the biblical qualifications for leaders as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.

Prior experience in working with students in a ministry setting is preferred.
