Business Analyst - Procurement Operations
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical Business Analyst – Procurement Operations to support procurement and operational contracting functions for a state government transportation agency. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented analyst with strong experience in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Excel, Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
The Business Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and improving existing procurement tools, analyzing operational data, optimizing workflows, and helping transform raw data into actionable insights for strategic sourcing and procurement decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Support procurement operations by managing, maintaining, and improving existing business systems and tools.
Analyze procurement, sourcing, vendor, and operational data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
Create reports, dashboards, trackers, and process documentation using Excel, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 tools.
Use Power Platform tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate to improve workflows and reporting.
Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
Maintain SharePoint sites, lists, document libraries, and internal collaboration tools.
Build or enhance automated workflows for approvals, tracking, reporting, and procurement-related processes.
Work independently on assigned analytical and process improvement projects from start to finish.
Collaborate with procurement, contracting, finance, operations, and technical teams.
Document business processes, data flows, requirements, and standard operating procedures.
Learn and adapt quickly to unfamiliar software systems and internal tools.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience analyzing systems, tools, business processes, or operational data.
2+ years of experience with SharePoint, Excel, and Microsoft Power Platform.
Intermediate experience with at least one of the following: Power BI, Power Apps, or Power Automate.
Strong Excel skills, including reporting, formulas, data analysis, pivot tables, and spreadsheets.
Experience creating new processes or improving existing workflows using available business tools.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to quickly learn and manage unfamiliar software systems.
Must be able to work onsite in Atlanta, GA 1–2 days per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, vendor management, contracting, or government operations.
Experience building dashboards or reports using Power BI.
Experience automating workflows using Power Automate.
Experience creating forms, trackers, or internal tools using Power Apps or SharePoint.
Microsoft certification in SharePoint, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, or Power Platform.
Prior experience supporting public sector or transportation agency environments.
