We’re looking for a hands-on Lead Building Engineer who thrives in fast-paced commercial environments and takes pride in keeping complex building systems operating at peak performance. In this role, you will lead day-to-day building operations, oversee preventive maintenance programs, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility performance.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee the daily operation of key building systems , including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, generators, UPS, switchgear, and life safety systems.

• Conduct routine facility inspections to ensure equipment performance, identify issues early, and maintain operational reliability.

• Lead preventative maintenance programs across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex building system issues , providing technical guidance when advanced expertise is required.

• Coordinate and oversee maintenance vendors and service providers , ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

• Maintain and support building automation systems, chillers, access control, fire alarm systems, and other critical infrastructure.

• Order parts, equipment, and materials needed for maintenance or repairs while managing inventory and documentation.

• Collaborate closely with facilities teams to support building envelope systems, doors, gates, and operational infrastructure.

• Respond to emergency situations and critical operational needs , including participation in an on-call rotation.

• Ensure maintenance work and operations are performed with minimal disruption to building occupants and operations.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 6+ years of experience supporting commercial building systems and general building maintenance operations .

• 2+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience .

• Strong mechanical, electrical, and HVAC troubleshooting skills.

• Experience using hand tools, power tools, lifts, scaffolding, and ladders safely and effectively.

• Ability to read digital meters, voltage testers, blueprints, and technical schematics .

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools .

• Experience using CMMS systems such as Corrigo, Maximo, or similar maintenance platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active trade license (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or similar).

• Experience working with building management systems (BMS) or building automation technologies .
