Job Description

The General Manager is fully accountable for the overall success and smooth operation of the dealership. Using world-class resources, they will create and implement strategies to ensure the dealership succeeds. The General Manager will meet these goals by planning, motivating, and coordinating the efforts of all departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Obtain, review and recommend improvements for each department manager’s monthly forecasts and plans.
2. Ensure that every department operates harmoniously and profitably.
3. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the factory and lending institutions.
4. Ensure that a completed financial statement is submitted to the factory by the 5th working day of each month.
5. Formulate policies and establish procedures for all training programs and monitor their effectiveness.
6. Oversee all dealership personnel functions, to include: interviewing, hiring, measuring and evaluating performance, recognizing accomplishments, and termination.
7. Review and approve the compensation plans for all employees.
8. Ensure that department managers are training and supervising employees for optimum effectiveness.
9. Communicate management’s policies and procedures to all employees and ensure that they are understood and followed.
10. Complete a formal performance evaluation of each department manager once every six months.
11. Provide enthusiastic leadership to shape employees’ attitudes and build morale.
12. Establish harmony and teamwork among departments.
13. Conduct managers’ meeting at scheduled intervals.
14. Coordinate with the business office to ensure that records and analysis be maintained accurately.
15. Develop merchandising strategies and assist in creating an effective, cost-efficient advertising program.
16. Resolve any customer complaints that line management has not been able to resolve.
17. Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
18. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
19. At least two years in a dealership sales capacity.
20. At least five years in a supervisory position.
21. Professional personal appearance.
22. Excellent communication skills in person, on the telephone, and in writing.
23. All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
24. All applicants must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
25. All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, motor vehicle records, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license.
