Position Overview
The Human Resources Clerk provides administrative support to the HR department, assisting with day-to-day operations, personnel records management, and HR-related tasks. This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate documentation, smooth onboarding, and effective communication between employees and the HR team.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update employee personnel files and HR databases.
Assist with recruitment activities including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
Process new hire paperwork and support onboarding/orientation for new employees.
Verify I-9 documentation and ensure compliance with employment eligibility requirements.
Prepare and distribute HR-related documents, memos, and correspondence.
Track and maintain employee attendance, time-off requests, and leave records.
Support benefits enrollment and respond to employee inquiries about HR policies and procedures.
Provide clerical support including filing, copying, scanning, and data entry.
Assist HR staff with special projects and other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in HR or Business preferred).
6 months to 1 year of experience in an HR or administrative role.
Basic understanding of HR practices, policies, and labor laws is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning HR software systems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
Work Environment
Office setting, working closely with HR staff and other departments.
May occasionally interact with external vendors or job candidates.
