Summary:
- The Athletic Trainer II - Outreach is responsible for executing and providing outreach services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services, and promoting the company's sports medicine offerings to target groups, such as athletes, teams, or healthcare facilities. The Athletic Trainer - Outreach works closely with healthcare providers, administrative staff, Sports Medicine Staff, and patients to ensure a seamless healthcare process, including scheduling, documentation, and follow-up care for our clients.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides preparation and makes contact in alignment with Source’s core values and policies and procedures.
- Assists the Operational Supervisor – Outreach with daily operations, and scheduling of athletic training coverage for all outreach, club sports, tournaments, and venues.
- Assists the Operational Supervisor – Outreach with the execution of new and annual contracts in collaboration with healthcare partners’ leadership, administration, and marketing.
- Clear, proactive, and concise communication with all clients and associates.
- Identifies strategic opportunities for program growth and improved quality of care through knowledge of external markets and professional association participation and communicates those to Operational Supervisor - Outreach.
- Assists in budget development and cost-saving efforts.
- Frequently assesses processes and develops alternative solutions as needed.
- Provides reporting and maintenance of injury tracker database for outreach services
- Ensures high-quality patient care and customer satisfaction through engagement of key stakeholders, e.g., sports physicians, leaders, staff, emergency care, urgent care, community and physician liaisons, marketing, and public relations.
- Provides complete and thorough and compliant documentation and data reporting.
- Identifies and resolves problems and/or conflict in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Works well in group problem-solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Demonstrates clinical competence in the provision of effective service delivery appropriate to the patient’s specific needs through on-field assessment, care, and prevention of injuries by taping, bracing, and preventive exercises, communicate with parents/guardians, coaches, and administrators regarding athletes.
- Identifies patient/family need for services from ancillary departments and provides clinical follow-up and referral as necessary

- A minimum average of 35 hours of athletic training coverage per week.
- Treats athletes within the ATC scope of practice
- Travels for coverage needs and transportation of supplies, marketing materials, and any other essential items deemed by Source Fitness Management Administration.
- Attends mandatory staff meetings, system-wide training, parent and booster club meetings, and other events or functions deemed necessary by Source Fitness Management Administration
- Covers a minimum of 16 total hours per contract year outside of the primary worksite in outreach services.
- Assumes responsibility for completing all assignments and tasks in a timely and cost-efficient manner
- Works closely with the Physicians, Athletic Trainers, Stakeholders, and Sports Medicine Management
- Performs other duties, coverages, and responsibilities as required by Source Fitness Management and its partners and assigned by management
- Markets healthcare partners within the community.
- Maintains Membership in a Source Company Committee or Initiative as designated by
- the Director of Athletic Training
- Ensures to become a CPR Instructor if not currently one.
- Assists with yearly CPR events and certifications.
- Maintain professional affiliations through participation in state, regional, and national athletic training organizations and comply with NATA best practices.
Requirements:
Master's Degree (MA/MS) or equivalent, or four to ten years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
Maintains current licensure by the state of Georgia and be certified by the Board of Certification.
Preferred member of National Athletic Trainer’s Association, Southeast Athletic Trainer’s Association, Georgia Athletic Trainer’s Association.
BLS certification is required.

Other skills required:
Maintain independent liability insurance in addition to liability insurance provided by employer.
Maintain a valid state driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
Exhibits clinical competencies in treatment aspects for sports medicine patients.
Experience with athletes in numerous high school sports.
An in-depth knowledge of basic training program principles for a variety of sports.

Physical Requirement
Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment, machines and tools. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or material. Must be able to exert up to forty (40) pounds of force occasionally and/or up to twenty (20) pounds frequently. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of 100 to 150 pounds with assistance.
