About Our Client

Addison Group is partnering with a growing organization to identify a Staff Accountant to support core accounting functions. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering hands-on exposure to general ledger activities, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

Job Description

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting timely reporting. This position works closely with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure financial integrity and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger based on financial analysis
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in coordination with internal stakeholders
• Complete bank reconciliations for assigned entities
• Process intercompany transactions and ensure account balances align
• Prepare progress billing estimates as assigned
• Support month-end close activities, including schedules and journal entries
• Compile and distribute monthly and quarterly financial reports
• Assist with internal reviews and annual external audit requests
• Provide support with sales and use tax filings
• Contribute to special projects and provide additional support during peak periods as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Previous experience in general ledger accounting or staff accounting role
• Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
