Schedule: Flexible; Must Be Available for Nights, Weekends, and Holidays
Operation: 24 Hours a Day, 365 Days a Year
Soul Foodies is a fast-paced, scratch-made kitchen specializing in Southern comfort food and Creole classics. We pride ourselves on preparing high-quality food from scratch while delivering exceptional service through takeout, pickup, delivery, and catering operations. As a 24/7 operation, we are committed to consistency, quality, cleanliness, and hospitality every hour of every day.
Position SummarySoul Foodies is seeking an experienced and dependable Line Cook who is skilled in all areas of the kitchen and thrives in a high-volume environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, committed to cleanliness and food safety, and capable of executing recipes consistently while maintaining high standards of quality.
This position requires strong sauté skills, excellent time management, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Because our operation serves customers directly through takeout, pickup, delivery, and catering, all kitchen team members are expected to possess strong customer service skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Essential ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Cooking- Prepare and cook menu items according to Soul Foodies recipes, standards, and specifications.
- Execute all prep assignments quickly, efficiently, safely, and accurately.
- Work all kitchen stations as assigned, including sauté, grill, fry, prep, expo, and production.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, appearance, and portion sizes.
- Properly label, date, store, rotate, and organize food products using FIFO methods.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in accordance with company recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist with catering production and large-order preparation as needed.
- Prioritize tasks effectively during high-volume service periods.
- Maintain production levels to meet customer demand throughout all shifts.
- Communicate clearly with kitchen team members and managers regarding inventory needs, production levels, and operational concerns.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and stocking inventory.
- Monitor product quality and immediately report any issues to management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.
- Clean and sanitize tables, shelves, walls, storage areas, prep stations, cooking equipment, and refrigeration units.
- Follow all local health department regulations and ServSafe guidelines.
- Complete assigned cleaning duties and side work before the end of each shift.
- Practice safe food handling procedures and maintain proper temperature controls.
- Understand that every order represents a guest experience.
- Work with urgency to ensure accurate and timely order completion.
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
- Support team members in delivering excellent service to customers.
- 1–5 years of experience working multiple stations in a professional kitchen preferred.
- Strong sauté experience required.
- Experience in scratch cooking preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Customer service mindset with a commitment to quality and hospitality.
- Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Must obtain Food Safety Certification if not already completed.
- ServSafe Certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously for up to 8 hours or more.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work safely around hot equipment, sharp tools, and slippery surfaces.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions including chopping, stirring, lifting, and reaching.
- Self-motivated and dependable.

- Able to remain calm and focused during busy service periods.
- Flexible and available to work overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.
