Banquet Cook

Position Summary:

The Banquet Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food items for events, ensuring all dishes meet established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. Duties include preparing ingredients, cooking hot and cold foods, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. This role plays a key part in delivering an exceptional dining experience for members and guests.

The Banquet Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, and storing food properly, as well as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients to ensure recipe accuracy. This role prepares both hot and cold foods for banquets and events while cooking and presenting dishes in line with recipes, quality standards, and presentation expectations. The Banquet Cook operates kitchen equipment-including ovens, stoves, grills, and fryers-safely and effectively, and monitors food to ensure proper cooking temperatures and consistent quality. Additional responsibilities include setting up and breaking down banquet kitchen workstations, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, and monitoring food and appliance temperatures. The Banquet Cook is expected to follow all company safety, sanitation, and security policies, collaborate with the culinary and banquet teams to ensure timely service, and perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Experience: At least 2-3 years of related cooking experience, preferably in banquets or high-volume kitchens.

• Experience in a private club or other fine dining restaurants.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods during a shift.

• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, bend, twist, pull, and stoop.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds without assistance.
