We are seeking a skilled and experienced Water Main & Storm Drain Foreman to lead field crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground utility systems, including water mains and storm drain piping. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, deep knowledge of civil site work, and a commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all crew activities related to the installation of water mains, storm drain piping, and related infrastructure
- Interpret construction plans, specifications, and blueprints for proper execution of work
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and project requirements
- Inspect job sites, identify potential hazards, and enforce corrective safety measures
- Operate and oversee the safe use of heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, trench boxes, etc.)
- Install and oversee installation of manholes, inlets, catch basins, valves, hydrants, and other appurtenances
- Maintain detailed daily logs, progress reports, and documentation of crew activities
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth workflow
- Train and mentor crew members to uphold quality workmanship and jobsite safety
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in underground utility construction, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Proficient in installation of water mains (DIP, PVC, HDPE) and storm drain systems (RCP, HDPE, CMP)
- Familiarity with trench safety, erosion control, and grading associated with drainage systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and profiles
- Working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
- CDL preferred but not required
