Nurse Extern - Med Surg
ATHENS, GA
MED SURG EXTERN opportunities in the following areas including:
Med Surg A, Pulmonary, Gen Surg-Trauma, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Nurse Residency-Teaching Unit, Neuroscience & Oncology.
Day & Nightshift opportunities available.
10-week program starting on June 1st ending August 8th .
36-hour work week , working three 12-hour shifts generally mirroring a consistent preceptor's schedule.
Interview dates tentatively set for: March 25 & 26th in the afternoon starting at 12:30 PM

Responsibilities:
The Nurse Extern, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides direct patient care to patients from birth through the lifecycle. This care includes utilizing treatments, procedures and equipment appropriate to the pre-licensure nurse in the clinical setting per hospital policy.
Qualifications:Education
- A student currently enrolled in and progressing through an accredited nursing program and successfully completed the first Med/Surg rotation. Required

- No experience required
Licenses and Certifications
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Required (AHA or ARC)
- Certification from a Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician program Preferred or
- Certification in phlebotomy Preferred or
- Certification in ECG Preferred
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician program Preferred
- CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Preferred
- BECG - Basic Ecg Preferred
