CNC Lathe Machinist

Randstad is looking for machinists to join a firm in Madison Ga. Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred. Candidate must posess the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals, have experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders, etc). Knowledge of metal and other material properties. Good mathmatical skills and analytical abilities. $500 sign on bonus after 90 working days Competitive pay (based on experience and ability) Vacation Paid holidays / sick leave 401k option

Responsibilities

Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications

Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping

Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job

Select appropriate machines and tooling (e.g., lathes, mills) for a job

Monitor machine while working to adjust the process and identify issues

Determine and set speeds and feeds of machining equipment

Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects

Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages

Program and operate CNC equipment (e.g., lathes, mills, plasma cutter, press brake)

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs

Skills

• CNC machinery (2 years of experience is preferred)
• Milling Machine (2 years of experience is preferred)
• Lathes (1 year of experience is preferred)
• Measurements
