As a DevOps Engineer at Cryptic Vector, you'll design and implement robust infrastructure solutions that address the government's most complex and secure technical requirements in mission-critical settings. You'll collaborate directly with development, platform, and mission teams to create dependable, scalable systems that power high-priority operations—moving code from development through to production environments reliably and effectively.

This is an opportunity to own meaningful infrastructure work in environments where reliability, security, and mission alignment are non-negotiable—within a company that prioritizes technical excellence and long-term team strength.

Responsibilities :

  • Create CI/CD pipelines and promote DevOps best practices on development teams
  • Manage software deployments on Kubernetes clusters
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues spanning applications, containers, networking, and cloud services; perform root-cause analysis and implement lasting fixes
  • Collaborate on capacity planning and scaling strategies to accommodate growing mission workloads without compromising performance or security
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of cloud infrastructure and services—primarily on AWS—using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and configuration management with Ansible (or similar tools like Chef/Puppet)
  • Write stable, extensible, maintainable, and well-documented code in Python, Bash, JavaScript (and other scripting languages as needed) to automate workflows, tooling, and custom integrations
  • Provide technical inputs and leadership into software and infrastructure architecture decisions, including design reviews, trade studies, and recommendations for scalable, secure solutions
  • Deliver constructive, thorough code reviews to peers to maintain high code quality, security standards, and adherence to best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps roles, with a focus on CI/CD implementation and cloud/container orchestration
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Kubernetes and container technologies (Docker)
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform
  • Proficiency in configuration management and automation using Ansible
  • Solid scripting and programming skills in Python and Bash (JavaScript a plus) for tooling, automation, and pipeline logic
  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitLab CI/CD
  • Working knowledge of AWS cloud services in secure or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with Linux systems administration across distributions like Ubuntu and Debian
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, proxies, DNS) and their application in cloud and on-prem setups
  • Proven ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting complex systems

Benefits & Perks

As an Employee First company, we offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package:

  • 100% Company-paid medical insurance for employees
  • 100% Company-paid dental and vision insurance
  • Competitive salary and bonus
  • 25% 401k company contribution
  • Generous PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave, and volunteer time
  • Flexible work hours
  • Tuition reimbursement, training allowance, internal mobility opportunities
  • Free beverages and snacks, Donut Fridays, monthly social events
