The Atlanta GA team has an amazing opportunity for Senior Development Director . The Senior Development Director serves in a player/coach role overseeing the fundraising planning volunteer recruitment and management corporate and community leader engagement event execution and growth for our annual Greater Atlanta Heart Walk event along with providing supervision to three (3) fundraising team members for one of the largest Heart Walk campaigns in the country.

The ideal candidate will live within close proximity of the Atlanta market. This position is in our Sandy Springs GA office multiple times per week and out in the community.

Responsibilities

As the senior leader for the team you will be responsible for:

  • Achieving assigned revenue goals by developing and maintaining relationships with corporate and community partners
  • Ensuring the team meets/exceeds annual revenue goals
  • Leading existing and new sponsorships and relationships to achieve campaign goals through the cultivation stewardship and growth of donor financial dedication and support.
  • Driving new business development by soliciting and maintaining high-level corporate and patron sponsors.
  • Leading the team in the identification cultivation and recruitment of C-suite and executive volunteer leaders.
  • Owning the efforts of building volunteer leadership committees.
  • Maintaining an ongoing pipeline of potential sponsors donors and volunteer leadership to advance our mission.
  • Developing and implementing a plan of consistent campaign and revenue growth
  • Planning developing implementing and evaluating assigned fundraising event(s) according to best practices and event timeline/budget.
  • Confirming detailed timely and accurate data entry of relevant event campaign information.
  • Collaborating with other team members and volunteers
  • Coaching and mentoring your direct report to ensure their professional growth and success.

In this role you will report to the Vice President of Development and will lead three (3) fundraising directors to meet the overall revenue goal for the Heart Challenge campaign for Greater Atlanta .

Qualifications

  • University/College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in fundraising sales or equivalent type experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge and skills in fundraising principles practices and techniques.
  • Ability and experience recruiting training and encouraging top-level donors and volunteers.
  • Excellent listening skills including verbal and non-verbal communication active listening negotiating problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Highly effective organizational skills time management responsibility leadership and motivation.
  • Ability to work outside of standard hours which may involve some evenings and/or weekends.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout assigned geographical territory.
