Job Description
Turner and Townsend is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join the United States payroll team, reporting to the Payroll Manager. The Payroll Coordinator will be expected to process full cycle payroll and generate payroll reports while communicating with the team.
*** Working in-person from our Atlanta office is required a minimum of three days per week. ***
Responsibilities:- Processing payroll including calculating, verifying, and processing payroll checks, timesheets, and pay memos for hourly employees
- Managing payroll records by maintaining employee payroll files and keeping payroll data up to date while ensuring financial confidentiality
- Ensuring payroll complies with company policies, government regulations, and tax obligations
- Processing other financial compensations such as annual bonuses and severance pay
- Coordinating with the human resources team regarding changes in payroll such as terminations and new hires
- Processing leaver emails and related offboarding documentation
- Serving as the first point of contact for employees with payroll-related questions
- Collaborating with other departments and external offices, including tax authorities and regulatory bodies
- Supporting internal and external audits in coordination with other departments
- Performing any other tasks as assigned
- A minimum of two years of experience preparing and processing payroll.
- Experience managing payroll for organizations with over two thousand employees.
- Experience processing payroll across multiple states, with specific experience in California payroll strongly preferred.
- An understanding of payroll laws, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Working knowledge of payroll systems and tools.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information and perform accurate calculations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive and flexible approach.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to support demanding users and senior stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to explain payroll processes and technical issues clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
The salary range for this full-time role is $55K-$70K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
