Staff Accountant

Shift/Hours: Hybrid (Combination of remote and in-office requirements)
Pay Rate: $30-$35/hr DOE
Location: Alpharetta, GA 30005
Experience: Experience in accounting and finance.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

• Recording Transactions: Enter and verify data in general ledgers or accounting software (e.g., Intacct, QuickBooks, SAP).
• Account Reconciliations: Match internal financial records with bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable (AP/AR): Process invoices, issue payments, manage aging reports, and collect receivables.
• Financial Reporting: Assist the finance team with compiling financial statements, analyzing financial data, and preparing data for internal audits.
• Journal Entries: Prepare and post routine journal entries during the month-end close process.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work cross-functionally to perform critical business analysis and maintain accurate financial records.
• Close & Compliance Support: Play a crucial role in month-end and year-end close processes, tax compliance, and assisting with audits while reporting directly to the VP of Finance.

Staff Accountant Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is typically required.
• Software Proficiency: Mandatory proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions like VLOOKUPs and pivot tables) and highly preferred knowledge of accounting software like QuickBooks, SAP, Sage, Intacct, or Xero.
• Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accrual accounting.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data and accurately identify trends.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate financial information effectively to various stakeholders.
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
• Supervisory Skills: Ability to lead and mentor junior staff.
• Core Attributes: Candidates should have an upbeat positive attitude, a customer service mentality, and be a self-motivated, action-oriented starter.

Staff Accountant General Requirements:

• Flexibility: Ability to work successfully in a hybrid model featuring both remote and in-office requirements.
